The Vampire Ride At Chessington

Tuesday November 2, 2010

If you have ever been on the Vampire you will know just how good it feels to ride it. Deep in the heart of Transylvania (or at least in the part of the park with the same name) you will get to approach the ride and see it in action before you even get on it.

The best thing about the Vampire is that it is not a standard car that you sit in. Instead you will find your legs will be swinging beneath you as you sit in it, because there is no floor. This gives you the amazing feeling of your legs swinging free as you negotiate the fast twists and turns of the ride.

Many people say the Vampire ride is one of the best ones in the entire park. It is certainly one of the thrill rides and as a roller coaster it does rank as one of the major ones that have height restrictions in place. But it is also regarded as being tame enough that younger children can try it out. Make no mistake – it will scare you on the way round (this is in Transylvania after all) but it is a thrilling experience and one that many kids enjoy. It could even turn out to be their first ever roller coaster – and one of many more to come as well.

The Vampire is certainly not the fastest of roller coasters you could ride. But it does give you a chance to feel every second of the ride, to appreciate how high you are and where you are on the ride and what it’s like as well. There are two steep climbs to make – the first at the beginning and the second about halfway round – and the ride lasts for a good couple of minutes. It’s certainly worth queuing for and it will provide you with a nice memory of a great roller coaster that is an integral part of Chessington World of Adventures.

If you are lucky enough to get on the ride early and you don’t have to queue for long, you might even find yourself going on it for several times one after the other. It’s worth doing because it’s a nice coaster and one that is a firm favourite among many Chessington visitors. Now, will you be brave enough to go into the depths of Transylvania and ride the Vampire?
