Chessington World of Adventures
In Surrey, just inside the M25, you’ll find a theme park called Chessington World of Adventures. This is a bold title, but it was not given to the park without reason. The rides and experiences that await you here are truly spectacular. Whether you love the extreme rides or not you will definitely enjoy a fun filled and exciting day out at the theme park.
How big is it?
The park itself is very big and it is split into lots of different areas. This will help you navigate your way around the park and find the different rides and attractions that are there.
All the lands inside the park are named to give you an idea of what you will find there. For instance Transylvania has the Vampire roller coaster ride whereas the Mystic East has the Dragon Falls ride. This is a log flume ride where you are destined to get rather wet!
What kinds of rides does it have?
As we have already seen above, Chessington World of Adventures does not shy away from the big rides. Together with the Vampire ride and the log flume there are several other major rides on offer as well.
The newest area to open is called Wild Asia and this has a KOBRA ride which looks to be only for the bravest in the family. However those who have been brave enough to give it a try have been glad they did.
Elsewhere you can try out the Black Buccaneer. This is a pirate ship ride that swings you from end to end, going higher and higher as it goes. It’s probably best to try it out before you go and have lunch if you have never done it before.
Rameses Revenge is not for everyone either, but if you are up for the ride of your life you should be prepared to get a bit wet in the process.
What else is there to see?
The whole park is geared up to appeal to all kinds of visitors. The good thing about it is that there are areas for people and children of all ages to enjoy. There are the major rides of course, but you can also enjoy some downtime by going and seeing the animals too. Don’t miss out on the Safari Skyway as it gives you a lovely view of the park beneath you, as well as letting you see many of the park’s animals from above.
Didn’t it used to be a zoo?
Yes it did, and in fact part of the World of Adventures still does have plenty of animals there for you to see. They expanded and extended the original zoo in the late Eighties, and now you can go and see the whole park with one entry ticket.
This makes it even better value for a day out, and since you can book a short break here too and stay in a hotel nearby or on site, you’ll see it gives you lots of different options.
You can probably see that it doesn’t matter who you are thinking of taking with you to the park. You will be assured of the best possible time once you get there. With rides of all shapes and sizes to try out, you can have a great time and really enjoy every minute that you’re there.
Be sure to pick up a map of the theme park once you arrive, so you can plan out the areas and rides you want to visit. Make the most of the time too – you’ll want to enjoy every minute!
